Help reading codes
so I found some write-ups and just read the codes on my '94 non-turbo.
I got:
1-1-3
1-3-1
5-1-2
thing is, only one of those codes shows up in the codes list I found, the 1-3-1
RPM sensor signal missing.
So, is that one serious, and how would I fix it...
and what are the other 2 codes???
These are from port A2
Thanx

upon further google searching (had to search for '94 model to find codes)
1-1-3 is "short term fuel trim, upper limit"
5-1-1 is "short term fuel trim, lower limit"
so, what do those mean? I feel like the car is down on power, is the computer limiting the fuel? Would seem odd as it uses alot of fuel!

LOL, upon further...further google searching (volvo code 1-1-3) I found an explanation that said O2 sensor or MAF sensor will cause both the 1-1-3 and 5-1-2 codes.
So if I understand it right, one of those is fualty and the computer is loading the engine with fuel in order to prevent a possible lean condition. This is basically a "safe mode", correct?
Considering there was a large exhaust leak before the O2 sensor, it could be reading wrong or could have become damaged. The exhaust system on a whole is clearly old and (if I were a rich man) I would replace the whole thing.
Anyone got a link to a proper front o2 sensor? I dont believe its the MAF cause the car idles well and I cleaned it with MAF cleaner.
I know that generic o2 sensors dont work (or at least have read that)

The other option is the under hood diagnostic panel. You should have one ... not a guarantee. Besides engine codes you can also read and reset codes for all the systems on the car. That would include transmission, emissions, air bag, antilock, etc.
It's better than sliced bread and I only wish every car had been equipped with both.
