Hesitation and vibration at 1000 to 2000 RPM???
I have a 1995 Volvo 850 GLT with an NA engine. It has 74k on it and for sum reason if i press the acceleratior really lightly and let the engine rev from 1000 to 2000 RPM, u can fell the car shaking a bit. after 2000 RPM there is no vibration or anything. Anyone know what the problem is? I have replaced oil filter and checked the spark plugs, they are still usable.

RE: Hesitation and vibration at 1000 to 2000 RPM???
Greetings from Chicagoland.
Take a look at FCP Groton's parts illustration at the following URL:

Find an engine mount numbered 9135178. This one seems to get tired more than other mounts. Check to see if it's rubbing against the sub frame. I just bought one for my 850 and plan to replace it asap. Also, check other engine/sub-frame mounts for deterioration/damage.
A complete ignition system tune up is not done until you replace distributor cap & rotor, and ignition wires. In some cases, ignition coil is replaced as well.
Is your fuel system good? Have you replaced the fuel filter lately? What about the air filter?
It's probably the engine mount (s). If it's the engine itself that is causing the vibration, the RPM should be erratic.
Good night,
JPN
