Yesterday, the indicator column switch gave out, metal fatigue is my best guest. Currently looking for a used replacement.

If you can't source one I know a place that will have one, They're not the friendliest people there yet so i'm tryin to see if they'll give me some deals haha but if ya want i could ask them what they want for one.

is it the complete turn signal lever assy you're lookin for?

Complete assembly, I found out you can't just replace the lever, you must replace the whole assembly that bolts onto the column.

The lever broke inside the assembly around the internal pivot. If you can find one let me know! I can have one locally for around 90$ Can (=80 U$D), but I'm trying for lower.

1993 850 GLT here
165,000 miles -just bought.

so far, engine and transmission is smooth, runs fantastic.
Previous owner(s) took care of it as i have a folder full of receipts which include:
PCV system, axles, o2 sensor(s), catalytic converter, camshaft position sensor etc.
I think those are the things that need attention from what i've read and searched for the non turbo 5 cylinder motor.

I love this car for many reasons lol...

I have a 95 854 with 253,000 and a 95 855 with 425,000 both still run strong and have had no major problems. Maintenance is key though.

Wow. 2006 is a long time ago. But I still wonder how XPS knew his 850 "was mint and he loves it" if he hasn't picked it up yet?

I've got a 2.4L non-turbo that's got 290,000 miles on it. Just compression tested it the other day with ~212 psi in each cylinder. 189-219 is where it's supposed to be... so this engine is almost brand new, IMO.

I have been putting in regular dino oil for the past 10,000 miles, tho... even tho the book calls for synthetic. I think I'll be putting synthetic in this puppy from here on out after I get done with some maintenance. I wanna be like that guy with the 1 million mile Volvo.

The book does NOT call for synthetic. It recommends it if you're going to be towing things a lot. I do use it. Good to read that your compression numbers are good.

Hmm... it appears you are correct. Gets to be 100 degrees here fairly frequently and only touches 32 degrees maybe 3 or 4 times a year, so I'd imagine synthetic is the better choice whether or not I'm towing.

I read somewhere that leaving regular dino oil in these engines for extended periods of times is the root cause of clogging the PCV system. So... more reason to stick with synthetic oil.

Kinda off-topic, but anybody use 5W-30 or even 0W-30 synthetic?? I'd imagine it would work just as well if not better than the 10W-30....

I stick with what the book says. I run full synthetic in all of my cars now. I use 10W-40 in the summer and 10W-30 in the winter.

My daughter overheated her car last July and was able to drive another 1,000 miles afterwards. I really believe the synthetic helped a lot in that situation.
