So I found an 850 project.

I need a refresher as its been a while.

Here's the scoop: 1994 Turbo wagon. Tan on tan. Body has 245,000 miles. Exterior is IMMACULATE. I cannot stress how amazingly clean it is. Inside is perfect except for the driver's seat having a rip. Supposedly has an engine with 89,000 miles.

Won't start. Cranks, but no start. Owner states it will run and then die after a while, and then after a few tries of starting it runs fine. Battery is almost shot.

Fuel pump relay? That's my first thought. Maybe the PNP switch?

Next is a relay by the fan in that little section by the front of the car. It buzzes REALLY loud. I'm not sure what it's for, but its gray and I believe has the number 508 somewhere in its part number. I have a pic of it, but that would require me to get out of bed and go over to my phone to upload it, and I am too lazy for that.

Then, the Winter mode triangle sometimes flashes. I almost think its the transmission S/E/W switch, as the WINTER button is stuck from crumbs, dust, and food. Or, what else could it be

From a visual inspection, the body is like a 9.9999999 out of ten. Only flaw was it was missing the driver's headlight wiper blade and fender VOLVO emblem. Both of which I have in a box in my basement.

Tires were decent, rotors looked relatively new, and I would assume pads are newer too, unless they were total cheap asses and didn't change pads.

$800 cash

Gimme yo thoughts

SNAG THAT!

You know that will be an easy fix, just need the find the problem. Most likely fuel issue, pump or relay. I would lean towards the pump.

He said it has 89,000 miles or less. If the trip odo is 0000 then the odo is likely broke, and you should check the mileage at the odb-1 port. If it's that clean it's pro ably correct mileage. The relay @ the fan is for fuel injectors, the pump relay is inder the fuse box.

I went with him to look at the car, and I can definitely attest that it's in damn good shape...I'd give it a 9 out of 10 easy.
