I just bought a volvo 850
Hello everyone, I'm new here. I'm living in Ontario, Canada near Toronto.
I recently bought an 850, which runs well, but has a few problems. It has 3 lights on. ABS, Lambda, and flashing up arrow.
I read a number of your posts and found them useful. I fixed the radio code, leaking oil filler cap, downloaded manuals, thanks for the hints.However I have a few questions about my car. It was made in Belgium in Nov 1982.
There is an engine id plate on the right front shock tower. Engine model is 55 and displacement is 2435cc.
I read the computer codes and recorded them but i can't use them yet for 2 reasons. The codes are listed against engine models such as B5252 with Fenix and motronic electronics.
How do i identify my engine and its electronics.
The second reason is the link in the sticky file at the top of the forum doesn't work for me. It responds with a window saying I don't have appropriate permission to access it.

Your car was made in 1982? Or 1992!
I believe the codes may be the same with either system. What are they?
If you look at the ECM in the black box near the right fender you will find 2 or 3 ECUs.
What do they say on them? This will help to let you know what you have.
