Default identifying these wires

i know that these two sets of wires are for the factory stereo - i had purchased a 93 850 GLT from my friend - someone had stolen his factory radio about a year ago and he never had it fixed - i purchased a sc-711 from some woman on craigslist for 20 bucks and when i was going to drop it in - i was met with these two wires - they are both 14 pins - and are not a rectangular connector - like one pin is offset on each connector - i am not sure if their is an amp that is missing somewhere and am just curious what is the easiest way to get either this factory stereo installed correctly or wiring a new aftermarket headunit - the car does have 8 total speakers installed - i do plan on replacing those and will probably just go with an aftermarket headunit -

i had read around on some forums about how the speakers are wired - with a aftermarket headunit - would it be possible for all 8 speakers to be powered from the headunit or would i need to do anything special to accomplish this -

Default RE: identifying these wires

Hello Randomrobbi,

Bummer
that someone stole the stereo because without the proper reset code the unit is useless to them. I hope that they never got it working the freakin bums

Is that the only connector available for the stereo? There are usually two for this model years unit. Or at least there were for my original factory deck.
I bought the proper wire harness for my car and hooking up the deck was a ten minute procedure and all of the speakers worked with no problems.

I have a 1994 Volvo 850 and I replaced the factory deck with a Pioneer DEH-3900MP

for entertainment/navigation (cd -mp3 -dvd) so that I no longer have to carry compact discs. Always found that changing discs to be a pain so now I just set up a playlist the day or night before and when I get in the car I can just choose a list or let the passenger choose tunes.

Besides, I stopped by the store one early evening and did not think to roll up the windows and someone reached in and just grabbed the disc folder and was gone. Basstages [:@]
