idle ?

Default idle ?

I am idling at 1000 rpm and it wont adjust down.

Check for:

- Fault codes in the ECU.
- Vacuum leak.
- Throttle body clean.
- Throttle cable adjustment.
- Other members' advice.

Also tell us what trim model you have; turbo orNA.

Sorry 1997 t-5 with 90000 mi. I have cleaned the throttle body and there does not seem to be any more adjustment but the car runs great. cant find any leaks thanks

Just looked at the diagram and it shows an idle stop cant tell from the pic if thter is a adjustment it looked like the rod was the only adjustment

i'd leave the idle stop alone...once you adjust it, the ecu has a hard time adjusting itself.

JNP thanks for the info was looking at the first diagram and the first thing it says to do is the tps switch but it does not show it in the diagram

Follow Tech's advice. Then, visit a local Autozone/other parts shops that provide free OBD-II diagnostic services and have them pull codes with a decent scanner.
