So i bought the car today and it has problem at idling starts misfring auto zone pull the codes is 1996 850 non turbo and the codes are the following:

p0705
p0103
p0120
p0730

 

There is a wide range of codes there.
Mass flow
throttle position sensor
and tranny codes.

The mass flow and throttle position sensor might be bad.

 

I would clear the codes, do a FULL tune up, check all connections, and see if any of them come back.

Okay i found out that the car had no air filter, I cleaned the throtter body and clean idle air valve and mass flow sensor and now the car is good @ idle and is running good i noticed the TCP is bad but that can wait for now i did the sparks and fuel filter and then i will erase the codes. now the bad is that is the pcv is clogged and is leaking oil from the oil cap
and i will want more information on the tranny codes what dop they mean because they don't apear on the chiltons manual that i haven thanks in advanced

I would first check on the tranny fluid level. The fluid level, unlike engine oil level, has to be checked with the engine running as well as the fluid being warmed up. Go to the following thread to find the procedure:

so I checked the trans fluid it was ok erased the codes took a long trip and only one code remains is the P0103 MAF and I will be doing this week the cap and rotor, spark plugs wires, fuel filter and some suspension things; but what can you tell me about the remaining code how can I test the mass Flow sensor??? thanks in advanced

 

one other thing to check - check the connector that plugs into the MAF. My connections there were a lovely shade of green (corroded). I cleaned them out with a dental pick, 1000 grit sand paper... 12 ounces of.. .nvm

that would be on both sides of the connection. the MAF itself and the harness connector...
