Default Ignition Switch Installation

Does anyone have any instructions on installing an ignition switch? Is this a do it yourself job?

If this is on an 850 it is way easier than the V/S series.

Remove the two T-25 Torx screws toward themiddle on the clamshell collar around the steering column. You then need to remove the (I think) T-15 torx screws toward the front (steering wheel side) of the clamshell They are set deep into the plastic and you need a fairly long and thin bit holder to get to it.

Remove the upper and lower half of the collar. Getting the collar off can be tricky but if you extend the steering column all the way out it helps.

If you just need the electrical part of the switch remove the connector and there are two screws that holdthe switch in place.

Remove replace and reassemble. Take note of the switch orientation before you take it off.

If you need to replace the key side of the switch there is a pin at the top of the lock cylinder than needs to be depressed and it will slide right out.

Here is an update. I put in the ignition switch and the car worked great for5 days. I was seeing some some coming from under the hood but I could not tell where it was coming from.
The car is not startin.I think its the starter as I have power but hear a click when I try to tumble.
Also, my dash lights and gear shift lght don't work 90% of the time coul this be related or should I just get an alternator whil I'm at it
