Mine is a:

1995
850 Turbo Sedan (T5)
In really "sound" condition, has a few little scratches and dings. Runs great, but has a couple minor adjustments that could be helpful.
It is complety stock right now.

I have only had it for a couple weeks, but I absolutely love it! Best vehicle I have ever been in.

-Hope to hear about you 850s!!

6 CD Changer (will be given to him as a Christmas present)

Hey yert my pax seat also went out in the recline position, I just undid the mechanism and wound it up to proper angle and then re-installed the little turn-screwy thing (that's the key to holding it up). It's held up for a while now. The funny thing is I went YEARS with having it down and using pliers to wind it up only to see if fall down again, I even had my jack and jackstands behind the seat to hold it up!!!

I bought it for $500 last Friday. Guys garage caught on fire and melted the front bumper. The heat cracked the headlight lenses. Otherwise its in good shape. Before I owned it some vandals broke out 3 windows. Apparently their accuracy was a bit off and it has some dents and dings here and there. Overall pretty nice for a $500 commuter car. I'll tell you how I like the drive after its tagged and insured.

It's my first european car. I can tell you that it is designed WAY better than any american car I have owned. It is easy to work on. It looks like the designers took maintenance into consideration. I was shocked to see that I didn't actually have to remove a portion of the turbo plumbing to change the plugs. American designers wouldn't have thought of that.

Year: 1997
Sub-Model: 850GLT
Sedan/Wagon: Sedan
Miles: 141,xxx
Color: Red/Tan Leather
Condition both cosmetic and mechanical: Pretty good shape - Not perfect, but not a pile either.
Modifications (if any): K&N Panel Filter, Pioneer Premier CD player... maybe more in the future!

How do you like it?: My wife and I love it! It's a Volvo, for one, it gets great gas mileage, is awesome in the snow, looks sweet, is great to drive... what can I say? We love our Volvo! My only minor complaint is the cost of regular maintenance, like the timing belt and such... Ouch! But the good news is, now that it's new, it should get us into the 200k mile range.

The only reason we would get rid of it is if I find the right 850-R to replace it... but I don't think Tech will trade me his yellow one. [8D]

Our Volvo the day we brought it home!

Tech is copying me!

I had a dark grey 97 850 Turbo sedan that I really liked. Then engine went on it at 206K. Not sure why, but it was in great shape and the independent shop I took it to gave me $800 buck for it with a blown engine. In hinsight I would replace the engine in that one.

I replaced it with a white 97 850 R. I've had some problems with it and had to take the head off due to a burnt valve. It has 175K on it and it runs fine most of the time, but has a tendency to misfire on cylinder #1 occasionally. It's in very good shape cosmetically. I like the looks of this car quite a bit.

Since I first saw the 95 yellow T5R in 1995, I have wanted one, but when I bought the white 850 R, I quit looking for the yellow T5R. Wouldn't you know it, that's when I found one for a very good price. So I bought it sight unseen from a Honda dealer in Indianaplolis (about 200 miles away). It's in really great shape and runs fantastic.
The only mod so far is IPD sway bars. It has 150K on it. When I was working on the white one, my wife took over the driving of the yellow one. Now that I got everything fixed on the white one (just replaced the ABS Control module and fixed the oddometer) she is getting it back and I'm taking the yellow one back.

I also have a burgundy with tan interior 98 V70 GLT that only has 130K on it and is as reliable as any car I have ever owned. I'm selling it though when I find a 98 V70 T5M in red with charcoal interior. I really want one of my cars to be a five speed and I'm not willing to convert one of my R's.

Other Volvos I've owned was a white with burgundy interior 85 760 Turbo Diesel which was a very comfortable car that ran great and got fantastic gas mileage. Then I had a gold with tan interior 89 760 Turbo Intercooler that I never liked very much. A/C never worked and I didn't like the color. I got my doors blown off once by a 93 Mazda RX7 and got rid of it and bought the 94 850 Turbo right after that happened. Then I found out how fast that RX7 really was.

Mother in law has an 01 V70. Oldest daughter has a 99 S80 T6. Son has a 98 V70R. Youngest daughter has a 95 850 Turbo wagon.

We are a Volvo family!
