What do you think? It has been in 2 minor fender benders -- needed new bumper one time and fender another time but looks new. What should i offer?

If you had to chose one of the above? -- assuming quality (interior, exterior..etc.) of both cars are the same.

If it was me, I would go for the green one.. Seems super clean and I personally like the leather over cloth. It is hot in the summer but easier to clean! Both seem nice, eventhough its just a simple fender bender, not a fan as I won't know how the 2 paints will age over time (unless the whole car was painted) and I would hate having a 2 toned car. Good luck with whatever you choose!

How is it you found two 15 yr old 850s in your area; both with less than 100k miles on the clock? I would take a good hard look at the carfax records.
Or is this normal in the Boston area? Do you guys not drive anywhere?
BTW: Always get it ckd out by a qualified tech first; before you buy.

So, the second car is sold... the first car is still available
The carfax shows 2 minor accidents (that i knew about) and regurly scheduled maintenence- new timing belt, left ball joint, brakes, tires...
Kelly BB value is 3490... hes asking 4000.. what should i offer? i know its a rare find but anything over the KBB value seems like a ripoff

What exactly are the 2 accidents? How minor were they? I would have the car checked out by someone whom knows Volvos.. Though will say that has super low miles! Are you taking into consideration KBB and the accident? Remember that those figures you see on NADA, KBB and blackbook are for good ORIGINAL cars. Values diminish with accidents, reguardless whom preformed the work and how good the work is. The one fact is that it only has 75k on the clock.

Like Somthngfrce said have it checked out by somebody who knows Volvos, even a dealership if no independent Volvo shops available. Then go from there on what to offer. If everything checks out fine offer $3,000 and see what happens. I find bartering for cars entertaining myself, but some people hate it. I won't even go to places that have a no haggle price. I would not pay more than KBB Private Party price though. Not in this economy. Places are having a hard time selling cars right now.

I just went and looked at a 98 V70 GLT w/ 73k on it. $6k at an import dealer. There was another guy there who beat me by about 5 mins, drove the car and bought it. Damnit!!! Apparently he had another 98 that had 400k on it, and was finally giving up the ghost.
Sure was a nice car, although when he started it a puff of smoke came out. So even if I had beat him today I wouldn't have bought it without checking out the compression.
If it's a nice car they seem to go QUICKLY. I remember I recently called on one on craigslist, in less than 12 hours it was sold.
