I’m changing my outer tie rod, and the nut that tightens against it got frozen on the inner tie rod. My thought is to get a nut splitter, bust the bugger off and replace it, instead of getting a whole new inner tie rod.

Anyone know what size I need to get?

 

Once you bust it off, just take the pieces with you to Home Depot and match it up. Not sure what the size is but this is what i would do.

 

I was lucky enough to have 'loub' over at MVS read my post and give me his old nut that he just took off! Split the nut easily and I'm done!

Now I just have to struggle with my brakes hard lines before I can get it on the road
