Are instrument clusters from turbo 850s the same as non-turbo?
My 95 850 GLT has a broken odometer. I saw a how-to thread about replacing the little plastic gear to fix it, but I found a 96 turbo 850 parts car that I'm already buying the dash cover from & could possibly buy the cluster as well.
Are there differences that will make this a no-go?
Thanks!

Yes there is actually. Only clusters from 94/95 are interchangeable and clusters from 96/97. Between those years they changed how the speedometer receives its signal, making them non interchangeable. Sorry.
Don't change your cluster! Buy the odometer gear from fcpgroton, IPD, or odometergears.com and fix it. You can pull the car's actual mileage from the computer (the how- to is in a thread somewhere) and set the cluster to the correct mileage, then change the gear with a new one, and everything will be happy. There's 2 kinds of odometers in an 850: one that's broken, and one that's about to break. And the former is the most common type to find in a salvage yard. Used odometers are truly a false economy on these cars.
