Instrument light dimmer question
All,
I'm in the process of putting in an oil pressure gauge on our 95 850 Turbo sedan. What I want to do is wire the gauge light into the instrument panel dimmer slide switch so that the light on the gauge will dim or brighten along with the rest of the instrument lights when the slide switch is moved.
My trouble is, I do not know which wire on the back of the dimmer slide switch to tap into. I popped the switch out of the dash and on the connector there are two pink wires, two brown with orange stripe wires, a black wire, a white wire and a white with black stripe wire.
Can anyone give me an idea which wire I want to tap into.
Many thanks,
Glenn

RE: Instrument light dimmer question
you do run the chance od dammaging the dimmer possiblt as it was not designed to handle a specifiv electrical load, it could overheat and dammage itself.
If you want to do it find any light that is controlled by the dimmer and tap your 12V supply from the same 12V supply as the dimmed light.
