This one is new to me! I cleaned the MAF yesterday and discovered a couple of problems that I need to take care of ASAP.

The intake hose that comes off of the MAF and directs air to the throttle body is rotted and has a small crack/ cut. Where do I find this part? and what do I call it?

Also the wires on the car (with 145K miles) are Bugicord (sp?)... are these original?

As far as I can tell this car had all service done at the dealer untill about 110K miles. Most of the maintenence is up to date (tranny fluid is clean and clear, oil and filter just done, air filter clean, etc.) I am planning on replacing the Timing belt this weekend (it's due) and wondering if I should do plugs at the same time?

Found it!!! I hope this fixes my midrange flat spot... We'll see!!

How about the plugs? I am on a tight budget... but want to be sure this car is in tip top shape for my new child in September!

 

I use nothing except OEM plugs and wires. You can order them from fcpgroton at the same time ast the hose.

 

So if the wires on the car are bougicord do you think they are original? I have no problems with hard starts / missing that would make me think to replace the wires... How long do these wires go for? and the other ignition system pieces for that matter?

Yes, Bougicord wires are OEM...

 

Wires, if OEM, should have date printed on them. If older than five years you should replace them.
