Default Cracked hose

Hey guys, new poster here with a question. So after some issues with stuttering/stalling, I replaced my fuel filter and that seems to have solved the issue. My question is this: while replacing the fuel filter, I noticed a cracked hose and have no idea what it is. I'm not as familiar as some of you all with the intimate workings of my car, so any help is greatly appreciated. I traced it back as far as I could and linked a few pictures in case it helps in identifying the hose.

Thanks guys!

That is called the "J" hose and its a common issue. You can get it online for $10-$20. I tried using a regular hose from a parts store and it fits really sloppy; the space is kinda tight trying to make a hose curve to connect. You might as well replace the other hose too. It runs from that cut off valve, in your first picture, toward the tank. You need to look for where it connects to the plastic tube that runs up the fill tube. I used a piece of fuel line hose from the parts place for that; I don;t remember the size. The hose is straight so it's easy. The harder part is disconnecting and reconnecting it near the fill tube.

I'm surprised you were not throwing a check engine light.

Check engine light, most people look at it as an indication that the car is running. Lol

Thanks for the quick response! I'll do some shopping online and yeah, the hardest part always seems to be the connecting/disconnecting. When I changed the fuel filter, the bolt absolutely would not go back where it was supposed to in the clamp, so I had to find a thinner, longer bolt and a wing nut to tighten it down. I feel like any time I work on my car I'm having to improvise some sort of solution...but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy doing that.

I'm too old to enjoy working on cars anymore. But with so many cars I can't afford to send them into the shop all the time. Every time the Benz or the Lexus goes into the shop I can hear my wallet sobbing as I pull up to the door. But fortunately, i've gotten braver to work on them.
