Default It's decided againts climate control

The 850 has decided it is completely against climate control. It wants none of it. I get the sense all of these codes it's given are related to one or a few things and that they may not all be separate problems. Can anyone more familiar with these let me know what you think?

A7
122 Temp. sensor interval too long
231 (doesn't show up on the Mathews Volvo site list)
132 (doesn't show up on the Mathews Volvo site list)

B1
122 Outside temperature sensor open circuit or shorted to 12 volts
135 No signal from engine coolant temperature sensor
411 Blower fan seized or drawing excessive current
413 No control voltage at driver’s side interior temperature sensor inlet fan
414 Driver’s side interior temperature sensor inlet fan seized
415 Passenger’s side interior temperature sensor inlet fan shorted to earth
417 Passenger’s side interior temperature inlet fan seized
418 No control signal to blower fan power stage
419 Faulty diagnostic signal from blower fan power stage

I'm ordering a new engine coolant temp sensor

Thanks
Shawn

check this out as a guide:

Volvo 850 ECC climate control AC & heater system service manual

Given most of your codes are saying signals are either missing or open, I'd be checking for a connector or a relay problem first before replacing sensors or device parts. Take a look at the break out box section in volvotips to see if you can do some testing at the connector pins first.

Good luck and post up how this works out!

Thanks for the link mt6127. And for your help on my other posts.

I'm stunned at the possible depth of getting this A/C system up and running. Probably would like to rule out whether the ECC module itself is faulty first.

I've got a list of parts coming to get this car running and on the road first. Then I will work my way around this head scratcher. Too bad I'm not in the states or I think I'd call RobertDIY to the rescue. lol.

sounds like you need to find a pick-a-part or a part out on Craigslist. I bet you can find a used ECC for cheap.

All that complexity for so little benefit, it just drives me nuts. However, at least you don't really have a separate brain somewhere, nor a bunch of interconnecting computers talking to each other about air conditioning. If you replace the ECC unit that might fix it all.

My wife's car has the a/c incorporated into a TV set that costs $5000. As if somehow air conditioning feels better when you can watch it on TV.

Ok, I need to ask for some help. I need a starting point. Those codes make me think one or more things are not getting power, or maybe there is a bad ground somewhere. So my two questions are

1. Where is the ground for the blower, interior temp sensors / fans etc?
2. Where do these things get power from?

I opened up the ECC. It looks brand new inside, no blown up caps or anything so it may not be the ECC.

Thanks
Shawn
