I have been experiencing this problem for the last two weeks. One mechanic sais it had to do with the "throttle body". I have my doubts. In early mornig my pedal is very hard to move down. If I dont press it down car wont estar when cranked. Using cruise control last week the padel jammed down. Asfter disengaging cruise no more jamming diring trip but problem in mornings (and other periors as well) continues. Anyone has a clue??? Thanks.

 

Either dirty throttle body or throttle cable going bad.

 

When I went to look at the 850 GLT I ended up buying, the throttle was stuck wide open. I remover the plastic cover, shoth everything that moved with WD-40, and worked it all by hand for a minute or two! The throttle has been operating PERFECTLY, ever since! I surprosed the guy selling the car by fixing it on the spot! LOL He was only asking $500 for the car. Needless to say, I paid for, and drove it home that night! Hope this helps you!
