Default Quick question on my Throttle/pedal feel

1998 V70R AWD (new to me) the gas pedal seems rather difficult to push in almost like it is binding in some way. The only thing I have noticed/seen is that the cable is loose where it comes through the firewall. I have not popped off the throttle body cover yet to see if anything is unusual or looked under the dash (will do that tonight when I change the heater core). Any suggestions I can look out for or try?

My '98 was the same when I bought it. I removed the throttle body cover, and sprayed the throttle with wd-40. It loosened up and feels normal now. Huge difference, sticky gas pedal was brutal.
