Default KIWI DYE OR POLISH!!!

I've been reading all the threads on the Kiwi Polish or Dye for the trim on 850's. It seems half say dye and the other half say polish. Has anyone that has actually done the process know exactly what the label says on the bottle they used? If so, please pass along. I really want to do this to my faded trim.

Thanks for all the help.

Is it the bottle with the triangle sponge aplicator? I saw that one at the grocery store tonight, but can't remember exactly what the label said. I didn't see one that said the word "dye" on the bottle. The application sounds easy, but finding the correct bottle seems to be the hardest part so far. I think this bottle I saw tonight actually said something about wax? maybe.
Thanks for the help.

yert315-What year is your 850? Is it a Turbo? I just bought this 93 base w/ 158K a couple of weeks ago. Having work done on it and already miss driving her. I also have the black on black finish w/ grey interior. Love the car and hope that it lasts as long as some of these in the forum. Thanks for all your help.

It is a circular applicator tip. You might need to go to Home Depot or w/e and get a triangular sponge.

Red Turbo has the right picture up. I just bumped a post of mine Black Beauty to the top of the 850 forum. It has pictures of during and after I did this to my sons car. You can also see pics of the car in the Wheel Upgrade S60 & 850 in the Sights and Sounds forum. It has lasted awhile now. In fact I recently did it to the trim on my S60.

Thanks guys. Did you mask of body when you applied or just went with the wet rag I've read about? If I prep w/ rubbing alcohol, will that be sufficient or any suggestions? I'll post some before and after pics also. Mine is recently purchased and definitely needs a good wax job. Thanks for all the help.

Yes it's a 1994 850 turbo and I love it! I have tan interior though.

I have the triangle cap with the triangle applicator. I did need to use my sister's triangle make-up applicator to get the tight spots haha! unused of course.

To be even more specific, its black on top with a red strip and yellow on the bottom. And it does say premium wax formula at the bottom.

I just cleaned the trim well and used a wet rag to wipe off excess. Its really easy. You might want to put on extra coats to get rid of the streak lines, and a darker finish.

Any more questions just ask andGood Luck!

Just do the wet rag method.

I taped everything up, but it was completely unnecessary. If I were to do it again, I would use a wet rag.

Just clean everything off. Rubbing alchohol should work fine.

You can also use "forever black." It comes with a cleaner. I did my '96 and it's holding up very well.

Can't find forever black anywhere. I get the car back Monday and plan to do the trim by the weekend. I have heard both the dye and wax, so I will pick one and post how it went. Sounds like both worked well, so I can't go wrong...hopefully. Don't want the job to look sloppy[:'(]. Thanks for the help and will update when job done.

I'm not sure I would go w/ a wax personally. I wouldn't want my bumper to turn out shiny.....

The ones on my 97 need to be redone, but I do NOT want black. I want mine to be grey like they were originally. Any suggestions? The ones on the yellow car are black and they look fine, but the white car has that grey lip on the rear spoiler and I want to match that as close as possible.
