Default Knock Sensor Bank 1 & 2

Got a 94 850 Turbo...

used Centech OBDII scanner and got:

Knock Sensor code for bank 1 and 2. I changed the knock sensor which comes with one male connection for two sensors attached together...I used a junk yard one anyway...I don't hear any knocks or pings...WOULD YOU HEAR THEM ANYWAY? Or am I Forest Gump?

My ride drives very smooth and no hesitation or stalling or anything...well, my turbo might be getting ready for a rebuilt I guess...

any thoughts?

Your 850 looks just like mine. Same color and everything.

Anyway, I got the knock sensor code on my 850 and it ended up being an issue with the spark plugs. I swapped them out for a new set of OEM ones and the code has never come back. Just a thought.

+1.

The knock sensors pick up certain vibration range during knocking/pinging. If your engine is not producing audible pinging/knocking and running smooth as silk, follow FCP's suggestion.

BTW, what grade of fuel are you using? If anything less than the premium, switch to premium fuel (91 or higher Octane rating).

Default knock sensor

Thanks

I am using 91 octane...my engine does run pretty smooth...although I hear a noise coming from the power steering unit...clicking sound and when I place my hand over the fill cap it stops...

I think I have an anonimous plug...Ill change them now...

Check for mounting security/play in the pulley for PWS reservoir.

Changing the plugs to Volvo (or OEM) plugs is a good way to start.

See attached; some diagnosis require Volvo tester/breakout box.

thanks...drove 120 miles today...no problems but the noise is still there...I can't read the attachment you posted...you mean the reservoir must be tensioned at a certain rating?
