new member here, I apologize if this sounds like a newbie question

96 850 has had a new knock sensor put in but the knock sensor code keeps coming on again

I am suspecting that it may have been torqued too much.. would you happen to know how much I need to torque it?

also, is a faulty knock sensor code common on the 850? is there anything else that I can check?

Was the updated sensors installed?
Knock sensors torque specs=20Nm or 15FT LBS

You might also want to check the wiring and also maybe the Pins on the engine computer.

to be honest I am not sure if an updated knock sensor has been installed. Is there a particular feature unique to, or a part # printed on the new style knock sensors?

 

If i remember correctly the old style has wires coming out of the sensors.
The new style the harness plugs into the sensors.
The old have a harness attched to the sensor.
