Default lambada/cat

hi have had my car for a week (1996 850 estate)brought it with a few problems which need sorting so any advice would be nice.

first thing car is misfiring through all speeds my thoughts are coil pack malfunction as i had simler thing with a saab i had.

second lambada warning light on dash is constantly on

third when at operating temp i get clouds of smoke from exhaust when its idling put foot down and it goes this is to do with the lambada sensor could the be cat be naft as well

any help or suggestions thanks

Lamba light being on is most likely from the car misfiring.
I would do a full tune up and clear the codes and go from there.

The tune up might fix all the problems.

You will need to find someone with a scanner to clear the codes.

been searching net and read somewhere you can do this manualy on some cars is this right or will i still need a reader if so how much do they cost

93 to 95 cars have OBDI which can be done manually. But the 96 and newer needs a scanner to reset the codes. You can get some scanner for around $100.00 or so.

found one on ebay will buy it on thursday when my bank balance goes up lol.cant do enything till i get my work shop manual which should be here this week i hope.thanks for the feedback will keep you posted as to what happens hopefully all it needs is a tune up and possibly a new lamby
