The Last of the American T-5R Yellows
Dear American, 1995 Yellow T-5R owners: I know there are fewer than 179 of us left, because I have been following the totalled (crashed) and seat-heater burned yellows, and I know of six teefivers that are gone from this world forever.
It would make searching for comrades much easier if we can all get the designation correct. I know it is a pain to have to type "T-5R" every time you refer to your buggy, but typing t5r or t5-R or T5-R or T5-r or T5R or T-5r or T 5 R is just making searches hard, and is not acurate. (please forgive me for not surrounding all of these iterations with quotes. I think you get what I mean...?)
In a related topic, I think it would be fun to find out just what 1995 Yellow T-5R vovo models are surviving, such as wagons v sedans, and automatics v manuals. I own two yellow sedans with original automatic. Anyone else feel like taking this head count? There are so few of us left. How about a road rally, sometime?
We can move this thread to the 850 forum, when we get more Yellow owners onboard...Peace

When you say "such as wagons v sedans, and automatics v manuals," are you referring to just these "yellow T5-R's" or all 850's?
Also, correct me if I am wrong, but all "American" 850s that have turbos were made with autos. The only US manual turbos are conversions. I could be wrong, but I did make a thread of the "automatics vs manuals" count and it seems people were telling me that.

Hi Coontasha, welcome to the site. Yes there are fewer yellow 850 T-5R's on the road in the USA than there were back in 1996 but that is to be expected, &%it happens. I do understand and see your point about doing the tag the way it is mounted on the car, that has always bugged me a little but I never came out and wrote it.
As for a count, that will never happen. There are people driving them that really don't care or really know that they have a rare bird. I have been following the count myself and have posted a few times about what I think the current count is. The strange thing about it is that I believe that there are less black wagons still on the road than yellow sedans. It's actually easier to sell a wagon than a sedan. Here is where I believe the numbers are at the present time:
Yellow Wagons: 33 (a few have been imported).
Yellow Sedans: 97 (a few have been imported).
Black Wagons: 48
Black Sedans: 245
Green Wagons: 7 (yes there are green T-5R wagons in the USA).
As mentioned, most are auto's, likely 98% of them. No manuals were sold stock in the USA. BTW, where are you located?

I don't believe they made any red '95's. They started with more colors in '96. The difference between the '95's and '96's is easiest told by the seats and rear trunk spoiler. The seats in the '96 have the suade on the inside and leather on the edges and the rear spoiler has a black tip on it.
In '95 there were black, green, and yellow.
In '96 they made black, red, white.
