Default Look what I will be driving in about 1 week (Pics)

I am buying this car!!!!

Needs some work.
Body needs to be fixed to secure the bumper support properly.
All air bags need to be replaced (Have a donor car)
Needs tires(Hopefully handled already)
A/C needs work (hopefully only a receiver dryer)

Got a really good deal on it though.

I will post on the progress with pics!!

Now you have a white 850, a yellow T5R and a burgundy donor car. Have you noticed the pictures of my garage? You trying to copy me or something? Do I have to go buy a Mustang now?

...and make sure to have it thoroughly inspected at a Volvo dealer, like Jim had suggested when you got the white 850 a while back. Post questions for CEL, ABS, A/C evaporator, mysterious vibrations & noises, oil leaks, transmission acting up, brake squealing, sunroof not closing, etc... We're here to help[8D].

Looks like a minor frontal impact did some damage & SRS deployment, all of which you could perhaps fix up in hours, if not less.

I'm now starting to feel that you and Jim were separated at birth.

Anyway, I found the brochure I snatched up from a local dealer (a brochure on dealer-offered mod parts, which actually looks pretty nice) and will upload the pages, though some descriptions are in Japanese[8D].

We will expect the yellow to be beating the traffic and those owe-struck looks from Volvo enthusiasts.

Sincerely,

JPN

P.S: I did a used 850 search at Japanese Volvo site, and a yellow T5-R with about 30,000 miles was sale for approx. US$14,000.

Not exactly sure of the milage. The odometer was broke at 48,000 miles he estimates another 40k was put on it. I am going to try different ways to check the computers. The 96's hold the milage in the computer. Maybe the T5-R's might as well.

It is also coming with a parts car 94 non turbo.(Junk)
Both cars for 3K

Hopefully I will have it buy the end of the week and will fix alot of it over the weekend.

Tech, I'm kind of interested to seeing pics of the "donor" car. It may give people a good laugh.

Tech, thanks for the pics on the sizzling hot donor.

However, it doesn't look as bad as I though it would be; it looks like you can just put a new hood & R/H side headlamp assembly & L/H side blinker lens and sell it, unless the engine compartment is empty[8D].

To this day, I haven't seen anything worse (better) than the PITA-350, if you remember the nightmare thread I posted. I wish I took some pics of it; it would have shaken the entire forum[8D].

Thanks,

JPN

Wow, that's not a bad looking car!
Kinda interesting that the corner light on the accident side looks fine but
the one on the other side is broken...

Hi John,

I have 2 analysis on the possible scenario:

1. The car hit something shaped like a "U", with one leg being longer than the other. The passenger side headlamp & hood had absorbed 95% of the impact, and the car came to a rest when the driver side corner lens hit the other leg of the "U"[8D].

2. The owner found the passenger side corner lens after months of research but could not find the other, so he/she said "Screw this, a car with one corner lens missing isn't worth keeping"[8D].

.....[8D]

Hey JPN,

Here is a better scenario for the drivers side broken turn signal. When the bumper dropped on the passenger side it went UP on the driver side pushing up the headlight trim piece into the lense causing it to break and fall out.

Now how did I know that? Remember the 16 year old who backed into my wifes 850? Hit the car on the driver side pushing down the bumper slightly and did the same thing in reverse LOL!

Not sure how any of the damage happened to either one of the cars.
The guy I bought it from was given the cars from his soon to be Ex-wife.

The Yellow on is in the driveway now. Was hoping to be able to work on this weekend but wife made alot of family plans this weekend.

Hoping to be driving it by tuesday.

>The guy I bought it from was given the cars from his soon to be Ex-wife.
I think the future Ex-wire did the driver side lens[8D]. I take this back, I think she did the passenger side[8D].

>Was hoping to be able to work on this weekend but wife made alot of family plans this weekend.
May I suggest the following:

Tech: Hey wife, I have another interesting family plans for this weekend as an alternative.
Wife: What's that?
Tech: You know, while I take the parts off of the "donor" Volvo, you could perhaps wash the yellow Volvo, and the kids could perhaps clean the interior of it. This will strengthen our "family unity" and "bond us stronger by working on a project as a team" (The underlined bolds are the killer words).
Wife: Oh Tech, I am so impressed, so impressed to know that I have another chance of shooting that SOB JPN guy!

Please note that I cannot be held liable for your personal safety. In case your wife's "CEL" turns on, RUN[8D]!!!
