I just had to do unpaid OT yesterday. Unpaid OT is way too common in Japan[8D]. This makes you more tired psychologically.....
Unluckily I have the same problem here. I am an independent software consultant and its very hard to get my customers to pay extra, even when delays are their IT team's fault. Oh, well, such is life.

Tech, I just noticed, did you buy a tool set to match the yellow T-5R, or was that just a "by chance" thing?
Just a by chance thing. It was a X-mas present from the kids last year.

Highly Suggested Scenario:

Tech: Hey kids, you know, there is a gentleman by the name of JPN, who is stuck in Japan even though he wants to come back "home".

Kids: That's so sad daddy, that is so unfair (kids, thank you for your understanding)!

Tech: Unfortunately, it's an immigration related issue and there is not much we can do for him, except may be talk to one ofmy friends who is a senator. However, for next Christmas, you all could perhaps chip in and get two sets of screwdrivers, one for me and the other for JPN.

Kids: Daddy, that's grea.....

Wife:That's it everyone, for next Christmas, I am sending JPN a heart-warming gift↓

It'll be more like "heart-stopping", won't it ?

Or may be she'll say:

Wife: "I'm sending JPN guy these pairs so he can suck his CEL-doomed brain out of the ear canals".

Looks like it cleaned up really great! The paint seems to be in great condition...a lot more yellow than mine, which to me looks a bit faded.

When are you gonna have it back on the road?

I drive it every day already.
I am fixing it as I drive it.

The paint came back really well and looks great.

On mine some areas seem a little lighter than other areas. Like the rear spoiler seems a little lighter than the trunk. Mine shines up really great though. It was really bad looking when I first looked at it, to the point where I was not going to buy it. The dealer took it in the back and waxed it and it came out looking great. I'm very happy with mine. I had NTB put the IPD sway bars on for me and it handles much better now. They charged my $120 to put them on while they were doing an alignment and I just know it was something I was just not going to get around to doing.

The trunk spoiler is bubbled and peeling. I need to remove it and have it repainted.

My front tires are bad but it still handles pretty good.

I know but I am waiting to finish the body work and install the front bumper covers.

Hopefully but next week it will all be done.

Then I will have to have it made and I will update it.

Good news. I got my hands on a Good Odometer gear today to install on my car.

So I went to the Dealer and had my buddy read the milage out of the car.

Any guesses on what it is?????

Ok I will tell you it is about 87,000 miles.
I have the exact amount written on a piece of paper in the car. Keeping track by the digital for now. Hopefully this weekend I will install the gear and set the milage to proper specs. (Not worried about it for legal purposes the car is already exempt by the state) But I want to be able to keep track of the milage on the car.

Hoping to get alot done this weekend on the car.

I will keep updating as it happens.

I got the bumper on for now.
I have decided to leave the rest to a Body shop. I don't have the proper tools to get it right.
I will save up if I have to but I want it fixed pretty much the right way.
Here is a couple of pics with it on there.

I know the cover needs to be cleaned yet but was running out of time for tonight.
I will clean this weekend and see how it looks after a good cleaning and buffing.

Hey Tech,
I must have missed the part about not having a working odometer. Did you have a ballpark guess of the mileage from the previous owner? 87k, that is not even broken in yet!!! I am so ready to get mine back on the road if I could ever get well here. I still cannot get over the shine you pulled out of that a couple of weeks ago. Your white one is looking pretty glossy too sitting there next to it. I thought that Florida sun was hard on paint, what is your secret??

Congratulations,
Rob

My buddy at the Dealer used their hand held scanner and could read the milage out of the car.

So Todays progress was.
Removed the speedo cluster and replaced the gear and set the milage to proper numbers
Replaced the SRS contact reel in the steering column.
Replaced the ignition switch.
Installed a set of aftermarket fogs (See pics)
Replaced R/S engine mount.
Replaced both sides inner fender liners
installed Air guide after repairing the mounting tabs for it.
Replaced O2 sensor I had with a known good one (Last time I knew it was good) Kept getting a code for front O2 slow response.
Replaced inside rear veiw mirror.
Tried to fix/figure out what was wrong with the sunroof but it is FUBAR. Need to take the entire assembly out of the parts car.

Thats all I can remember at the moment its been a really long day.
After all that still had to Mow the Lawn and fix the sprinklers.(Edited)

Oh and tomorrow is the washing and buffing the front bumper to see how it comes out.

A car's life undoubtedly depends on who drives/owns it. If owned/driven by a person like Tech, it would serve 20-30 years/300,000-500,000 miles (or longer).

On the other hand, if it was owned/driven by an average driver, it would cease to operate in less than 10 years/70,000 miles.

Those two 850's were lucky that they were found in the hands of Tech.

JPN

P.S: I'd love to see them with upgraded headlight assemblies (those in RedTurbo850's post/S70driver's pics) + some high-intensity LED touch-ups.
