After driving for about 1/2 hr and made a quick stop, the Low engine oil indicator light turned on, on my 93 850GLT after re-starting the car. Stopped at a gas station to check the oil and it was full. Re-started the engine again and the light was gone. This is the 3rd time it happened in the last 3 weeks. As always, the oil is full. Any ideas why this is happening? Is there a sensor going bad? Where is this sensor located?

 

The sensor is located in the front of the engine in the middle.It has one wire going to it.

It might be the sensor or you have low oil pressure.
You migth want to check the oil pressure as well.

 

Thanks for the info. How do you check for the oil pressure. The oil pressure light does not light up though.

 

You will need to find a oil pressure guage that will hook up to your car.
