Default 1999 S70 Low coolant indicator

I had a leak in the supply hose that connects to the radiator fill tank. The low coolant indicator alerted me but after replacing the hose the indicator will not go out. The fluid fill level is correct but the light continues to stay on. Is there a reset, or a sensor that has failed? where is the sensor for this indicator light?

Thanks for the help.

Bill

My car is doing the same thing. Coolant light will not turn off even though the reservoir is full and it is not overheating. Where is the sensor for this light? is it the one on the bottom of the reservoir? or is it another sensor somewhere?

I assume the Red light with the radiator symbol is the low coolant light. My owners manual is long gone.

Yes the sensor is in the bottom of the bottle.
The sensor ring inside the bottle might be sticking as well.

It was the little probe underneath. wasn't "snapped" up into the bottom of the reservoir.

Am new to this site & already appreciative, this thread helped me quickly diagnose & resolve when the coolant warning light on my S70 lit this afternoon after a relatively deep rut on the road apparently jigggled the coolant sensor connector located under the coolant reservoir.

Seeing that the thermostat remained dead center, the radiator fan functioning normally, the coolant reservoir still full & no fluid leaks underneath, I figured it must have been the sensor but did not know where to look until refering to this site.

The dealership suggested I take it in for a check, have saved myself some time & money with the help of this site.

Am generally pleased with my Volvo, which is a solid, safe, comfortable, quiet & reliable product with satisfactory after sales support.

Although parts are relatively expensive here, highly recommend the Volvo Oak Park, lllinois, USA webstore.

Best regards,
