My check engine light came on and the low gear (orange arrow) light keeps flashing as well as the econo/sport light. I have not checked for error codes as yet since it's late at night.Any idea what could be wrong?

I'm getting 1-1-1. Am I doing something wrong? I placed the "thing" in port number 2 and the light flashed 1-1-1

 

OK. I used A1 and I got the follwoing codes 2-3-2(lamda adjustment or Adaptiveheated o2 sensor control)and 1-4-3 (knock sensor signal missing or defective)

 

A1 is transmission.
The 232 code is Speedometer signal missing
The 143 code is kick down switch faulty or short circuited to ground.

I would clear and see if they come back.

 

Should I clear the codes using A1?In the event that I clear the codes and they come back how expensive is the kickdown switch to replace?couldthis switch beresponsible for my car not goinginto 4th gear sometimes?Also, what could be wrong if the speedometer signal is missing?

 

Yes I would clear them. I believe the kick down switch is the sensor that is inline in the throttle cable.
The speedometer signal I would have to search a little on to give you more info.

 

Tech, I cleared them and they have not retuned so far. I have a new throttle cable here readyto put in as the current one is no longer stuck to the firewall

 

That might be what threw the code in the first place for the kickdown switch.
