My wife was driving the 850 the other day and as she was pulling away from a stop sign the car died and would not restart. I got it home and the first thing I noticed was there was a bunch of black dust all around the serpentine belt area and the belt was a bit chewed up but still there. I turned it over and it makes this kinda wizzing sound like something is just spinning and it doesn't turn over. Its not the timing belt, I pulled one of the plug wires and put a screwdriver in the end and held it against some metal and had a buddy turn it over and I got no spark. Then I did the same to the coil wire and it got a lot of splark. It is getting plenty of fuel too. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I would check your spark plug wires and the distributor.

 

Pull the Dist. cap off and inspect.
