I have a 96 850 turbo with an oil leak on rear seal and am going to clean system and change oil trap. just before the turbo where the vac line and hose from oil trap connect to the air intake there is a fitting with a electrical connector that the two lines connect into. What is it ,how does it work, what does it do ? thanks

 

Are you talking about the Valve i the plastic pipe?

 

yes, just ahead of the turbo. it has an electrical connector

 

I have heard conflicting info on them. I heard it is some kind of heater. I also heard it is a Air monitor valve.

I can't seem to find any good info on it.

 

how does the pcv system on a volvo 850 work? there seems not to be a hose to the intake to channel crank case gasses.
