Manual trans backup lights

Hi, I'm hoping for some help. Can you tell me where to find the backup light switch for a manual trans 94' 850. Fuse and bulbs appear ok. Is it in the trans or in the shift linkage? Thanks, Chas.

It is on the top of the transmission, just a fuzz off center to the right as you look at it under the hood.
