Light 21 engine electrical on no faults stored abs light intermittent come on for ages then it will go out for days then come on again then go off no codes stored light 21 lambada censor battery alternator earth straps anything else I need to look for please abs I've given up on this one any ideas even look underneath driver seat

 

what year/model? which light are you referring to? The ABS light can be caused by either a faulty speed sensor or a problem with the ABS controller board. Late 90s/early 00s models were prone to developing cracks in the solder in the ABS board. Several services will rebuild your board or you can swap in another controller (bolts to the ABS pump so you don't need to open up the brake lines).

 

Vech year is 1996 850 auto
there were 2 problems abs and engine electrical fault light no 21 in volvo book it's the one to the left of the service light there are no codes showing was at garage when machanic checked

 

ah ok. I had to look at the owners manual to find what light 21 is. That's your Tracs control indicator light (my 850 was a 95 and that feature came out in 96). Check the button above the sunroof switch to make sure its not in the disengaged mode as that will set the indicator light.

 

Light 21 in my book says it's engine electrical I have an estate it has no sun roof as it has Air conditioning
