A few months ago I put two twelve inch subwoofers in my '97 850. I've been upgrading since then and now also have an alpine 15. There is a lot of power going back there and slowly over time more and more has started to rattle. Now the rear-view mirror rattles so loud I can't even enjoy my music. I took the mirror off and can't see any way to fix it. If anyone has had this problem before or has an idea how to fix it please help.

 

The mirror is designed to pop off during impact. If I remember correctly, there's a dome-shaped screw that sits between two metal wires that help to keep everything tight. See if you can tighten that screw and dab some locktight on it to prevent the rattle from shaking it loose. It'll probably be difficult to get it back together - I saw a post (here or somewhere else - I can't find it...) that talked about taking the domelight assembly apart to get it.
