Monroe Sensitrac struts any good?
Hi all,
Just acquired a `96 GLS wagon that is going to need new front struts and probably the spring seat and strut mount. Quite a clunk in the front end when I jump on the bumper and the center shaft on the PS strut has a 1/2 clearance up and down. Anyway found a great deal on Monroe Sensitrac struts but when I look on the Volvo centric parts suppliers seems like only Koni , Bilstein and Sachs are offered, and the price for even the basic replacements are over 2x what the Monroes go for. I am just using this car for regular driving and road trips, nothing performance. Anyone have experiance using the Monroes or a recommendation for a better decent replacement strut that won't break the bank? Thanks in advance, David.

RE: Monroe Sensitrac struts any good?
Never used or even seen the Monroe struts on a 850.
Here is prices from FCP Groton not that bad. And also a set of Monroe's from e-bay but no pics.

Not sure if I would trust the monroe's.
I like using the OEM Sachs or Boge.

My son's 850 has Monroes on all four corners. We bought the car with 170K on it and it now has almost 190K. I have no idea how long the struts were on the car before we got it but I do know they need to be changed before next winter. Overall, they are not bad, and my 16 yr old has no complaints.
