Default Old monroe gas shocks -- any value?

As a part of bigger bundle I've got a pair of rear new monroe gas shocks for 240 (see pics below). Shocks never were used, but they are pretty old, and I am not sure if they work as they are supposed to work. I don't need those, and I wonder if there is any value to these?

It depends if the seals dried up and they leak.

and, even if they haven't leaked yet, the seals could still be dried out enough that they'd fail shortly after installing.

How old are they more or less? Two years, twenty years? They are probably fine; they last 10-20 years in the car... They may have deteriorated some but I'd put them on. Then again I am no fuddy-duddy...

I don't like Monroe shocks, so I wouldn't put them on anything but thats me.

The reason I would check for dried and failed seals is because I've found when the seals don't get splashed and lubricated the dry and fail. Exercise helps them last. That's why I'm thinking 10 years of sitting may kill them. I've seen is on motorcycle forks.

You are right, all seals seems to be gone.. I assume, I can just throw the shocks away -- a bit sad, but I should have checked in advance..
