Default Moon roof help??

Hello everyone... So recently my moon roof stopped working... I used to be able to open, close, and tilt my moon roof with ease... But then one day it wouldn't open anymore... It would only tilt... When I try to open it it would open about 5cm then jam... I asked a mechanic he said some cables are jammed? I had no idea what he was talking about so I was hoping you guys could help elaborate the problem to me... Thanks

Not sure if it was the same case as mine, but for me it was the black strip of plastic that covers the mechanical bits when you sit on the inside looking at the rails. It got warp and the corners would get caught.

And how did u get it fixed? Can it be some DIY type stuff? Or should I let a mechanic do it?

Just filed down the corners. They're there to make it look nicer, nothing functional, just pain in the butt when they cause it to jam up. When it did that, most of the time it will make a cracking grinding noise when attempting to open. You can take the plastic strips out in the tilted position I think (it was a while back when I did this) by just pulling it. Wait on others on what they might have to say.

Sounds like your track might have cracked. Same thing happened to mine.

And then it's also a good opportunity to replace the old and dirty headliner

Once you get the headliner out, it's sooo straightforward and easy. A simple little afternoon project.
