Just picked up a 94' 850 wagon and the radio is dead.
There's one in the local junkyard that I wanted to just swap out.

Does anyone know if the code specific to the radio itself or is it
associated with the cars computer?

 

A dealer can give you the code if you have the VIN

So you are saying I would need the VIN from the
donor car to get the code for its radio?

 

Or you can take the radio itself in the Dealer with you and they will use the radio serial number and get you the code.
