Default My 850 Turbo Progress/ Questions

Hey guys so yesterday i took apart a few things so that i could fix my pcv problem, i have blowing smoke out of my dipstick and i replaced my intake hose since i had the PTC leaking < Thanks Bestharry for identifying that part, anyways i cleaned all the vacuum lines i could get at without taking off the manifold and get at the oil trap and what not. However i took an Intake hose from an S70 turbo and plugged with gasket maker the existing and extra nipples for more vacuum lines my 94 850 turbo does not have. I used intake cleaner in the throttle did a cleaning of a lot of things, dielectric grease on the cap, the wires, lots of connections and what not etc. So i made sure all was connected and running sound, the intake cleaner scared me as when i started the car it revved to 4k and would not kick down since the intake cleaner has burning it took some thinking at first since i was initially scared. Anyways point of this post is i have the same power as before but i seem to feel less of a "head throw" back into your seat as i step on it initially, however i'm wondering is it linked to that new PTC and intake hose or that would do nothing in terms of that. I might just be overthinking it. Also, since i have smoke still coming out of the dipstick tube do i need a whole pcv kit or just work on cleaning the parts behind and around the intake manifold and the trap? because under the spark plug cover there was oil in certain areas, and i'm wondering if its other issue's to?

During this evening, i placed the edging trim on my car since it was peeling with S70 ones which look nice and hold up well, the car is coming along, but i'm trying to eliminate the engine problems before i go onto looks. Would PCV be my only problem at this point? i have 227k if that helps identify other possilbe issue;s.

I love my T5 and i'm thinking of going with 17" Rims but would it throw off my ABS sensors too much? how does the 45 series tire seem to ride on these cars, anyone know?

Also, last thing, i want to go with 6000k HID's from the site that Tech mentioned since ebay looks risky for these kits, anyways given the caps or "covers" volvo's have on their headlights read access piece, how does the kit work do you elimiate this cover or is it compatible because i don't want moisture?

Anways sorry for all the rambling but i'm one a few 850 fanatics here in this city so this is my go to place. Thanks in advance for your imput and help

Kelsey

the oil under the spark plug cover is usualy a bad oil cap. take off your oil cap and look at it, there is prolly a crack in the seal

Alright, only reason for oil there? huh i never noticed, i will replace it then, is it a dealer thing or can i purchase one anywhere?

in terms of my cars lack of power after the work i did, i took off a vacuum line that used to be disconnected which i though was bad to have like that and reconnected it, i problem solved for a bit, took off the vacuum line that runs off the intake hose right after the maf and left it near the other line but still disconnected, now my car has plenty of boost and power and scream everywhere, when i had it connected it was restricted and when i stepped on it, boost only really came at 4000rpms, so i'm glad i fixed that..has anyone ever had a coolant light come on after hard accel, because mine never came on, nor does it stay on for more than a few seconds but it worries me, i have coolant and no leaks, but anyone encounter this, thanks!!
