My 97 Volvo 850 engine cranks and almost starts in the first couple seconds but then continues to crank and wont start. Does anyone have an idea what the problem may be? I'm hoping someone can direct me before i spend half the day diagnosing the problem outside at 25 degress

 

Sorry no shortcuts to diagnosing no-starts except sometimes the symptoms can point you in one direction or another..

Ck the basics; does it have spark, fuel pressure, compression, etc.

And BTW; i used to live in MI, 25 degrees ain't that cold.. esp if we're talking Celcius.

 

It sounds like a fuel issue to me. I would start with the fuel pressure relay and work from there.
