Default My Ecc?

I bought my 94 850 almost two months ago and was told i'd need to do some work. I finally gave in the other day when my cabin fan stopped working. I took my car to a guy I know who works on volvos and he replaced the ECC unit for me. I picked it up today and all was well until this evening when I drove home from work and the fan pooched out on me again. I don't know what to do. It's the long weekend and I can't call volvo to troubleshoot and I haven't gotten an answer from the guy who did it. I'm just a kid and can't really afford to go to volvo about it. Any ideas what it might be?

That works on all the 850's up to 1995. In 1996 you need a hand held scanner.
Ignore that fact that is says turbo. It works on all of them.
