The Mystery Hose....
Okay, I finally have the pics uploaded.
I had posted about this mystery hose in my Code P0410 thread.
So here is the "unplugged" end that I found near the air check valve, behind the motor. (I tried to highlight things so you know what I'm pointing at)
Here is the basic route of the hose:
And of course, here is where the hose ends: Passenger side of the motor, next to the power steering pump reservoir. It appears to go back into the motor somewhere.
What is it? and should it be plugged into anything on the other side? Thanks!

RE: The Mystery Hose....
OK here is what I see 2 things that seem really funny.
1. In the first picture the elbow which is real hokey.
2. In the 3rd pic I see where it is attched to the intake. But I also see another hose not connected.
That hose from the nipple in the 3rd picture runs behind the intake and over where you have it highlited in the 2nd pic. But what is missing and that will solve part of the mystery is that it is supposed to be connected to the hard plastic induction hose from the massflow to the turbo. There is a electronic valve right before the turbo. There is a small nipple there thats where it should be connected.
Here is a way you can fix the system with out messing with all the factory hoses.
Remove the hose on the side of the intake and install a cap with a clamp on it(Or it will blow off from the positive pressure under boost)
Then remove the cover over the throttle body and find a Vaccum nipple that is capped off hopefully on the back side of it. Remove the cap. Then connect a piece of vaccum hose and run it down to the front of the turbo. If the elbow on the electrical part is still good follow the line back a little it turns into a hard plastic line. Cut it at the hard plastic line but leave enough line to connect the vaccum hose you ran from the intake. Then the system is complete.
That setup is part of the PCV system
