Default Need to Crank Few Times in the morning

Hi fellow members,

Of late my Volvo 850 GLT 2.5 (A) 1993 facing this problem. It wont start with single cranking in the morning like what it used to be. I have to try several times and sometimes it takes me 5 minutes or 20 cranking until its ok.

On of the way that i can make it on with two or three try is by turned the key to second turn in which all the indicator at the meter lights up.Wait for 5 minutes and normally its will ok.

But what need to get the opinion what might be the causes to it and if change or repair how much the damage it would be.

Thanks in advance.

Check valve inside the fuel pump failed and not holding fuel pressure. Changing fuel pump is the only way to fix it.

There is also the possibility that the injectors are bleeding off too. Leading to excessive gas in the engine. Symptoms are the same. Probably a good idea to get a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail and see whats going on with pressure. If you turn on the key and crank and the pressure remains the same its not the fuel pump.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the opinion that coming to resolve my problem and kudos to the mechanic at my town.He checked one by one and initially thought it was fuel pump problem. But first he inspected the relay and changed the used relay and it works. We checked the relay and found out few burned mark and it stated it was manufactured year 1993 relay.I m happy all problem resolved.
