Default need help wont start

I have a 94 850 turbo that has stopped running. The engine turns over, but will not kick. I have replaced the rotor and distributor cap. Spark plugs, ignition coil. And I just installed a new cam shaft sensor. I have gas coming squirting out, and a spark at the plugs. But all it does is turn over and not kick. Any one have any ideas? My mechanic friend is getting stumped and my wife wants her car back. Help would be appriciated.

Thanks

Hi,

The same thing happened to me a few months ago on my 94 850 turbo. It kept turning over but would not start. I was at work and almost ready to call AAA. As a last resort, I disconnected the negative cable from the battery and then reconnected it. To my surprise, the car started right away. No clue as to what the cause for this was. Hope this helps! Good luck!

850Owner.

Thanks for the thought, we have accually had the battery out, swapped batteries, jumped it with a battery charger. It just stopped working while we were driving down the road and has yet to kick back on.

Do you have injector pulse at the injectors?

yeah when the fuel rail is pulled off and the engine cranking the injectors shot gas... and than the injectors decided to shott off also spraying gas everywere. So I know at least 1 is firing, not sure all of them are now that I think of it. Tried 3 times and made a pretty big mess with gas.

OK so maybe there is 2 issues total. Something you already fixed that caused the motor to shut down.
Now maybe the cylinders have been washed down causing low compression. With the battery at a good charge and maybe even with a charger on it try this.
Before turning the key on and trying to start the car press the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Hold it there and crank the motor over. Sometimes it can take like a minute and a half of constant cranking. But start cranking it and see if the sounds like it is going to try to start.

Thanks, I tried what you had suggested and got no change at all. Just a constant cranking with no kick.

I would do a compression test then. If you have spark, fuel, and injector pulse it should run unless there is no compression. But you may want to make 100% sure you have injector pulse. You can rig up a light to the injector plug and make sure the light flashes when the motor is cranked.

You just unplug the injector and put the wires into the plug.Or maybe you mechanic friend has a noid light which is the special tool to test for injector pulse. It will plug right into injector plug.

On top of the cooling fan is an injector relay check the wiring and relay. No injector pulse means signal is missing for the injectors. The fuel pump should be fine.
