Yeah, let me know how it holds up for you. I'm thinking that I might just hold out until spring and find a donor car like you did, that way I can utilize some of the other pieces from the car.

So I did a google search on my VIN from my wagon tonight just for fun and this is what I got....

Free Record Check Results:

Year/Make/Model: 1994 VOLVO 850
Body Style: STATION WAGON
Engine Type: 2.4L L5 FI DOHC

Went and detailed the interior of my wagon today. Used lots of leather wipes by Armaral or however you spell it and cleaned the seats and conditioned them. Shampooed some of the carpets, found some yucky spots and about half a bags worth of garbage under the front seats. Sick.

They look like new again.

And the yucky stuff on the floor, it was under the all season floor mats so it musta been sitting there for a while. Tried scrubbing it out but it's not all quite gone yet. It looks worse in the pic because it's still wet.

And now I have a question. I know that in 94 something happened and they always ask what your VIN is when ordering certain parts because something changed half way through 94. Well when I took off my inserts I found these on each of the door panels:

So I'm wondering is if my wagon was from the first half of 94, is that going to effect anything? Such as an engine swap? I'm unsure of what they all changed or the reasoning behind it, but here's my VIN as well. I don't know who would know this, hopefully Tech has some insight on it.

I don't have a magic 8 ball though!!!

I mean, I'm not too worried about the carfax thing saying it's a 2.4l because that engine isn't staying in there anyways, and besides, there was only one turbo model 850 and it was the 850 Turbo which was a 2.3l, I just think carfax is partially artarded.

I just want to make sure the engine I drop in there will line up with mounts.

If you really want it, I'll sell it to you for cheap. You want something you can rebuild?

That is true. All right, well I guess it's yours then. Haha. When that time comes around, probably spring (I don't think you'd wanna build an engine outside in the winter anyways) and I pull it out I'll let you know.
