Default New shocks new vibration

95 850 wagon 193K miles, just put a set of Bilstein Touring shocks on the rear, now I feel a slight vibration I never fealt with the old shocks. I pre pumped the shocks on the bench a couple of times, maybe only twice. Could other worn rear end stuff be making this vibration more evident? Wondering if I need to take them out and really bench pump them more. Thoughts? Thanks, Dave

With a stiffer shock, you could now be feeling tires that are out of balance.

Is the vibration only happening when your rolling?

Default vibration

I kinda doubt it's a tire issue- Set of 4 are about a month old and were smooth last week. I'll check tonight-rolling vs power on. They are "touring" class- are they really stiffer than stock? No idea what was on there before...D

The TCs are only slightly firmer than stock. Very nice choice; what i have on both my vehicles. Should not need to "bench pump" them...

Curious, why did you only install the rears? Usually do shocks/struts as a set.

RE: your vibration; your rear suspension is somewhat touter now so any issue is amplified a bit. I would go back to your tire place and ask them to recheck the balance; should be no-charge.

Default vibration

gdog- originally I heard some rattling in the rear and thought I'd replace shocks on all 4 corners, Got the rear Bilsteins for a great price, thought I'd start with the easy, cheap fix first (rears). Front right needs a spring seat. to do the whole front with mounts and seats and alignment I figured I was looking at close to 500 bucks parts and alignment. It rides very nice except for the squeeky from the front right. Looking back I should've just left the rear alone- rattle was hatchback panel and rear door rattles inside. I'm going to just replace the spring seat and say good. Move onto other repairs- like heater core. I do plan a trip to my tire place for a re-balance. D
