New Stereo and Jumped Battery

New Stereo and Jumped Battery
Hi,
I replaced my stereo some time ago with a JVC cd player. Yesterday I had to jump start my car because the battery had died. No problem. Then I tried to turn on the stereo and it did not power on. Do I need to use my access code even if I have a new stereo? If so, how - there are no readings on the lcd of the new stereo at all.
Thank you!
Dave

RE: New Stereo and Jumped Battery
Hey now,
I recall that when I replaced the factory head unit in The Anvil with a Pioneer DEH3900MP, I actually had to turn it on after installation. You should still have an owners manual somewhere and that may be your problem or you may, in fact, have blow a fuse.
Check the manual for your unit. The one inthe car -LOL
The onlyreason your going to need to reset any codes for your JVC is if when you installed it the first time YOU put in a security code for the Anti Theft that works in conjunction with your face plate.
Good luck and let us know.
