Default New Wiper Arm Needed

My driver's side wiper doesn't work...I've tried bending the arm (gonna try bending the end this time) and I've filed the tabs....no dice. I looked at Matthew the Volvo guys video and he says get an S70 Pass side arm.

I looked at car-part-com and there are none in my area...rats.

I looked at rockauto, and they don't have any, but Dorman makes em for an 850. Has anybody ever used em before? They are $44.

google "Volvo 9151087" and you should get some hits for Vovlo dealer stores - Tasca has the left side for $55. I've done the bend the arm thing too - suggest taking off the car and use a vice if you have one as it doesn't take much - maybe an inch. That usually works for awhile but the problem is the design uses white metal on the base end that warps over time and the length multiplies the change. For the xtra 10 bucks I'd go OEM and forget about it for the next 20 years :-)

I watched robert diy video. Used a grinder and hit the tabs. Worked perfectly

I had.previously ground the stops down and it didn't work enough. Maybe I should ground em down more.

This time, I bent the steel part of the arm down, towards the windshield. We'll see how well it works

I tried both techniques. I eventually got my grinder and blasted it a bit more. Perfect now

The springs used in the wiper arm are a very low grade. This means after a short time they stop expanding , therefore they begin lifting off the windshield. A quick fix would be to remove one of the springs to release the tension. WEAR SAFTY GLASSES! I've done this twice with good results although when the spring lets lose I've never found them. Try to buy OME with the longest warranty. The inexpensive ones will fail in a matter of months with a 30 day warranty.
