Some more updates:

Made a front plate mount so I can run a front plate when I'm out of state and what not. This is just a mock up. Took it back apart to get proper sized hardware and painted the brackets black.

Also, turned the collars down a couple spins on the coils. I had to put the car up on 2x4s in order to get the jack out. With the car on 2x4s, if it was any lower, I would literally not have been able to get the jack out from under the side of the car, it is too low to even consider jacking up the car in front, have to go from the sides.

also put in a new axle. Damn, the old one was so sloppy and limp. New one is nice and stiff and firm............

......that's what she said.

Be careful going thru Illinois. Them cops don't like you guys. Writing up tickets for you is like killing 2 birds with 1 stone -- revenge for Bears and more money for their empty sacks.

And another coil off on the backs and a couple spins down on the front perches

Still want it lower though. Depending on how the ride is with another coils off in the rear, will probably take one more coil off and drop the front a couple more spins. lol

See, I was really hoping I'd be scraping everywhere, but I'm not yet, I mean, I really haven't gone many places since I lowered it, but my main goal was to not be able to fit the jack under the side jacking points, and that has been accomplished. lol

Not yet, but I'm driving out to Virginia for spring break and I figure not having a front plate is just another thing they can pull me over and make me pay on the spot if I'm out of state.

lol. I wish. compared to a lot of the VW/Audis, I'm still monster trucking, I know I'll never get as low as those cars do, but I want to be close! haha.

You got a few extra bumpers? Seems easier to have a couple on hand to replace the one that'll get chewed up all the time - unless you're turning your 850 into a snow plow . . .

Gilber33: I was looking at some photos on the Sights & Sounds Forum last night -- you are right -- it can go 1" or 2" lower, although it might force you to drive only on roads fully plowed. Unless you move to warmer climates

This is the first time I've had the car out of the garage in probably three weeks. I only drive it if the roads are dry and not covered in snow. And I'll hopefully be moving out to VA for Grad School, so won't have to worry about snow nearly as much as I do here in WI.

Haha. Nah, I was sure to be real careful. That's as far as I went in the picture. I backed out and took the other side of the alley....I actually ripped off my front license plate back down the ramp to the alley. Haha.

That's great. I hope you get in your first choice. Is it this year?

I'll have one more year of undergrad after this semester. But I want to go out there and see if I like the area before I apply, and if I do, I'll apply asap.

If you decide to visit NYC, PM me --I can take you to some schools. Don't worry about the Volvo -- we'll park it somewhere safe.
