Default Nipple on the back of Air Intake Hose

This is the hose from the airbox to the Turbo. This hose has in fact 2 nipples

1- Nipple # 1 is underneath the hose: According the hood's Vacuum Diagram, a line (blue line in Diagram) runs from this nipple to the TCV (Turbo Control Valve). My line is black, which means that previous owner probably replaced vacuum piping. This is fine.

2- Nipple # 2 is in the back. My Vacuum Diagram has no other connection to the Air Intake. From searching these Forums, I hear that NA Volvos have a line to the flap valve. Mine is a Turbo. What is this Nipple for? I have capped this Nipple.

I looked at FCP Groton's picture of Air Intake Hose picture for my car. I don't see this Nipple # 2 on it. Is it possible previous owner installed the hose for the NA Volvo?

Pls advise.

Am I blowing something up by capping this nipple?

Cap it for now. There is 3 different hoses for the turbo cars. Someone might have replaced the one with that one and there is an extra nipple.

On another note -- i just recently discovered that previous owner (or mechanic) had taken out the vacuum hose the connects the PTC with the manifold vacuum tree, next (downstream from) to the TB. This means that crankcase vapors were not being returned straight to the intake manifold, at 80 degrees temperature, rather than via Turbo? So until the car warmed up the pressure had no release?

I also cleaned the PTC (without removing it).

Connecting the hose as it should be plus cleaning the PTC made the oil-tube smoke go away (almost). I will be doing the PCV soon.
